COACH PERRY REFLECTS ON FEBRUARY PERFORMACE

NAPSA Stars Football Club Head Coach Perry Mutapa has described as tough, his team’s run in the month of February.

The Coach has also added that not all hope is lost for his side, especially looking at the fixtures NAPSA Stars had in February.

NAPSA Stars recorded two losses and two draws in February, a disappointing record looking at how well the team performed in January where the Perry Mutapa-drilled side record three victories and one draw.

The month of love was however not so kind to NAPSA.

The team opened up February to a 1 – 0 loss against leaders Power Dynamos before picking up a 1 all draw against MUZA in the second match.

The team was then beaten by former Champions Zesco United by 2 goals to nil before closing the month with a barren draw against Kansanshi Dynamos.

With the draw recorded against Kansanshi Dynamos FC, NAPSA Stars dropped from seventh to 10th on the log with 33 points after 25 matches played.

“The loss against Power was the most painful one because at home we needed to at least win or draw. With the last game against Kansanshi a lot happened but we took a point. They are a quality side and coming out with a point especially after playing with a man down is not easy,” Coach Perry Mutapa added.

The MTN Super League has seen 25 fixtures being played so far, with only nine matches remaining to decide who wins the trophy and those being relegated.

Coach Perry is optimistic with the nine remaining matches, saying the Pensioners will dig deeper in these remaining games to finish in a good position.

The Coach has emphasized the need to remain in the super league saying the aim this season has been that of stabilizing and not going back to play Division One Football.

“We must keep on pushing, we shall not take anything for granted, teams from the bottom are also pushing and everyone is pushing to finish in a good position. We are optimistic that we shall come back from this bad patch,

“We are on course, and we shall make sure as a family we push in one direction and get the desired results,” Coach Perry added.
